Kids are funny...

Rex and Daphne were helping me put the groceries on the counter for check out. Two items were tomatoes and a Spaghetti squash. Daphne was pushing these two along and Rex said, "Careful Daphne. Don't squash the tomatoes. Get it? Don't squash (pointing to the squash) the tomatoes (pointing to the tomatoes)?"

Rex made up a new word the other day. Something was disgusting to him (blanking on what it was) to which he said, "Incagulantly, that's gross!" Pretty impressive as far as invented words go.

We were talking about Thanksgiving and the kind of things we should be thankful for. Here's what the boys are thankful for:
Felix - "I'm thankful for The Lord, Cub Scouts and the Army."
Rex - "I'm thankful for puppies, kitties, and the War."

I love when kids throw a big word in a sentence that they don't exactly know the meaning of. For instance, the boys got it into their heads that we were in a competition with our neighbor over who puts up more Christmas lights. While discussing this, Felix said, "Christmas is all about forfeiting your neighbors." By this, of course he meant beating the pants off them by putting up way more lights. Maybe he is wiser than I give him credit. I'm sure there are a few movies out there that exhibit neighbor feuds over Christmas lights. Maybe even some in real life where they "forfeit" their neighbors over a little competition. We'll try to stay grounded and keep the Christmas Spirit :)

Felix and Rex had a bad experience in a McDonald's playplace. It was an outdoor play area on a wet and cold evening. After playing in there while Scott and his sister Amy were waiting in the drive thru line, they returned to the car, and Felix said, "That was dreadful."
